Thai Language
Thai is a tonal language belonging to
the group of Ka-Tai languages, the five tones are monotone,
low, falling, high, and rising. This can be a rather
complicated language for the visitor. Although English
is quite widely understood, particularly in Bangkok
and major travel destinations, speaking Thai is challenge
and makes you be closer to Thai people and culture.
We have separated some Thai words and phases, which
may be useful on your travel to Thailand, into categories
below.
When you want to be polite, always
end your words, phases or sentences with “khrap” (for
male speaker) or “kha” (for female speaker). |
